ECD Qualification programmes

For the past eighteen years Khanimamba has offered various accredited ECD Training Programmes to the ECD Practitioners, the Committee members and the ECD support staff to address the need identified for the betterment of the quality of ECD services provided to children in Limpopo Province. Khanimamba is accredited by the ETDP-SETA to offer skills ECD Programmes and full qualifications at NQF Level Four and Five.

The programme is accredited by ETDP SETA. It is a full ECD qualification. It runs for 24 months. Main target are: ECD practitioners, and Supervisors who have been trained in ECD Skills Programme

higher certificate in ecd level five

Qualification ID: 64649

This is a full qualification in ECD level five. It runs for 18 months. The main target are: ECD practitioners who have obtained their National Senior Certificate and have certifciate on FETC.

Ecd level one (Skills programme)

Foundation course that helps the practitioners understand a child from birth and how to help children develop well holistically as they grow. A candidate who enrolls on this programme covers the following unit standards:

Care for Babies, Toddlers and Young Children (Unit standard ID: 244255)
Demonstrate Basic Understanding of Child Development (Unit standard ID: 244258)
Maintain Records and Give Reports About Babies, Toddlers and Young Children (Unit standard ID: 244261)
Interest With Babies, Toddlers and Young Children (Unit standard ID: 244262)
Prepare an Environment For Babies, Toddlers and Young Children (Unit standard ID: 244263)

Management and leadership skills programme

This is meant for Principles, Supervisors, Practioner and Board/commity. The following modules are covered:

Project management
Leadership skills
Working with adults
Financial management
Human resource managemen

Enrichment and high scope ecd approach

Target Group: ECD Practitioners in who have obtained their National Senior Certificate and have certificate on ECD Level One and Level Four. This programme runs over 24 months.

These are aftercare programmes aimed at providing support to practitioners on workplace implementation of quality and approved ECD programmes, and maintain the prescribed Norms and Standard Nationally set by the Department of Social Development

babycare

Target Group: The practitioners, caregivers, parents, child-minder's and managers of Community ECD Centres. Thisprogramme runs over 8 months. ECD Centres are encouraged to enroll babies and toddlers to ensure that children’s first 1000 days are catered for effectively. Caregivers and childminder are equip to ensure that these children are cared and correctly stimulated. Nursery rooms are relevantly equipped and adult:/child ratio is adhered to. children are not divided according to their age groups

parenting programme

Target Group: The practitioners, primary caregivers, parents, child-minder's and managers of Community ECD Centres. programme runs over 3 months. The programme aim at ensuring and enhancing parent involvement in the education and development of their children .

cooks 101

The programme target cooks from ECD centres. At the end of this Programme they will able to:

Prepare and provide a health and safe working environment
Care and maintain the equipment and tools
Plan a menu and draw a budget
Prepare nutritious meals
Set the table for different servings
